Private Dog Training Lessons in Newark, Delaware
We offer two different private lesson packages to owners who are looking for the greatest amount of 1:1 coaching. Our style of private lessons is appropriate for dogs who have relatively minor behavior issues and/or who need to learn basic obedience. Behaviors like leash reactivity, jumping, counter surfing, excessive barking, poor house manners, poor leash manners, won’t come when called, can’t settle in the house, etc. are all appropriate for private lessons.

Lessons are held in your home, which means you and your dog are learning where you’re most comfortable. Since we travel to you, you must live within 20 minutes of the University of Delaware to be eligible for private lessons. If it aligns with your goals, we may also decide to meet in a public location, such as a park or pet store.
What will my dog learn in private lessons?
Private lesson packages are always tailored to your goals. For example, if your goal is to have your dog walk politely on the leash in a variety of environments, then that’s what we’ll spend our time together working on. We won’t take up lesson time working on skills that don’t align with your goals!

Learn basic obedience commands like sit, down, heel, place and come
Focus on a reliable recall
All around stellar leash manners
Learn how to settle down in the house
Below I’ve detailed my two private lesson packages. Please read through these options carefully before applying!
5-lesson Private Training Package
We can accomplish a lot together in 5 lessons! This package is appropriate for nearly any behavior issue or goal. Here are a few more details about what this package includes:
Tools: The package uses a prong collar and long line (both tools are included). This is not an e-collar program.
Skills: This package can teach obedience commands such as sit, down, place, heel and long line recall (not an off-leash recall).
Behavior issues: Can address nearly any behavior issues with the exception of aggression and severe fear or anxiety.
Location: Must live within 20 minutes of the University of Delaware.
Timeline: Lessons are typically every 1-2 weeks and all lessons must be used within 3 months of the first lesson. Any unused lessons are forfeited.
Scheduling: All lessons are scheduled to start between the hours of 9am and 6pm, Monday through Friday (no exceptions).
Cost: $1,100 - all inclusive package price (includes lessons, tools and cost of travel)
6-lesson Private Training Package
The 6-lesson package is our premium private lesson package. This package includes e-collar training and goes more in-depth. Here are a few more details about what this package includes:
Tools: The package uses a prong collar, e-collar and long line (all tools are included). I only use E-collar Technologies e-collars.
Skills: This package can teach obedience commands such as sit, down, place, heel and long line recall, both on and off leash.
Behavior issues: Can address nearly any behavior issues with the exception of aggression and severe fear or anxiety.
Location: Must live within 20 minutes of the University of Delaware.
Timeline: Lessons are typically every 1-2 weeks and all lessons must be used within 3 months of the first lesson. Any unused lessons are forfeited.
